Problems in Madurai
Unlike many other historical cities that have been reduced to small towns, hamlets and ruins in the modern age, Madurai still remains a "city" and a major regional hub of commerce. However, it is a concerning fact that it has failed to achieve the progress it should have and its city ranking has sunk in the past few decades. Not only has it failed to attract new domestic and foreign investments, but it has also failed to capitalize on its inherent strengths.
Though there is no dearth of talent in Madurai, thanks to the Engineering and Science colleges in the city, it has not been able to retain the pool of qualified professionals. During the years following the Information Technology boom that swept across the country, the city saw an exodus of professionals to other urban centers, such as Chennai, Bangalore and Mumbai, which offered them better opportunities.

MADURAI IN 2008
I was analyzing what I have done last year and what I am planning to do next year - as I was approaching the end of the year. My 2008 was great and lot of things has happened and changed. All personal stuff and I am proud of it.
While I was doing that, I also went through the Madurai Times (Made in Madurai)blog for all the months of this year 2008. I was very much depressed and kind of disappointed with no positive change at all in 2008 for Madurai, except for just news!

Solution
If there is a strong force of NRIs and NRMs coming and settling in Madurai, that would change a lot of Madurai to Great Madurai. Do you understand what I am saying? If there is a strong self-driven REVERSE-BRAIN-DRAIN happens in Madurai, then no one can stop Madurai's improvement!
Here is how I am thinking reverse brain drain to Madurai will help Madurai become GREAT MADURAI.
